CINF’s new technique of Pb-Zn combined smelting and resource comprehensive recovery passed scientific and technical achievement appraisal
On Aug.9, 2013, the scientific and technical achievement appraisal meeting for New Technique of PbZn Combined Smelting and Resource Comprehensive Recoveryproject was held and organized by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association in Beijing. The expert appraisal committee was made up of 7 experts from China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, including the vicepresident Jia Mingxing and the academician Qiu Dingfan.
The expert opinions were formed at the meeting as follows: first, the complete information and accurate data submitted can meet the appraisal requirements. Second, the project has formed multiple independent intellectual property rights with import, digestion and innovation of Kivcet lead direct smelting process, equipment and automatic control system. Kivcet lead direct smelting process for lead bullion production was first adopted in China to develop leadzinc combined smelting innovation process, which is composed by lead direct smelting process and zinc hydrometallurgy process. Third, industrial application has been achieved and 200kt/a leadzinc smelter has been constructed with stable running, good economic and social benefits. Fourth, the project is characterized byadvanced technology, adaptable materials, high comprehensive utilization of resource, short process, high automatic control level, better environmental protection effects and low integrated energy consumption. Fifth, the overall technique reached international advanced level, of which the large fuming furnace continuous fuming process achieved international leading level.
The expert opinions also made it clear that the project is with technical and creative characteristics, 18m2 large fuming furnace is the first developed and designed in China, large fuming furnace is the first developed and designed in the world using pulverized coal continuous fuming process for industrial production. The technical index is advanced with waste residue containing 0.25% Pb, 1.55% Zn and 16% pulverized coal. The Zn leaching residues totally report to the Kivcet lead smelting system, the metals recovery from the leaching residue can reach Pb 97%，Zn 96%，Ag 95.05%，Cu 80%, which has solved the problems of high energy consumption, serous pollution and low resource comprehensive recovery occurred in the use of traditional process for Zn leaching residue treatment.
