CINF is an important research and design institute for China mines and metallurgical industry. It is equipped with a technological research and design team with advanced technical skills and perfect technological innovation system for the mineral resource comprehensive utilization. CINF’s research institutions include research and development center, postdoctoral work station and united experiment bases jointly built with the plants and other research units. CINF can undertake the following experimental research and product development:
1) Research on the mine rock mechanics and mining process optimization, capable to conduct various experiments on the mine rock compressive strength, tensile strength and shear strength, research on the stope stability and mining method optimization, open pit slope stability analysis and optimization study etc;
2) Beneficiation tests and process optimization study, capable to conduct mineralogical study of various mineral resources and beneficiation tests of each stage and beneficiation process optimization;
3) Metallurgical test. CINF is capable to conduct experimental analysis and metallurgical process tests on the smelting raw materials. CINF has built several test bases to make smelting tests and comprehensive recovery study on various metals.
4) Professional products development. According to the production requirement, conduct the development of professional equipment of mining, mineral processing and smelting, etc.
CINF has won many state-level, provincial-level and ministerial-level awards for the technological advancement. For example, “High-efficiency and energy-saving beneficiation equipment－CCF new countercurrent aerated flotation column “ developed by CINF was awarded in 2008 with the first prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology, the “Research on the Ecological Reconstruction Technology and its Application for the Mines in Karst Rocky Desertification Area” was awarded in 2009 with the first prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology, “Technological Study and Industrial Application of Liquid High-Pb Slag Direct Reduction” was awarded in 2010 with the first prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology, “Enriched Oxygen Side-blown Bath Smelting Technology” was awarded in 2011 with Innovation Prize in 5th China Patent Annual Meeting “Research and Industrialization of the Zn Direct Leaching and Scattered Metal Comprehensive Recovery New Technology” was awarded in 2012 with the first prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology “Research and Industrialization of Fe Concentrate Recovery Process from the Alumina Red Mud” was awarded in 2012 with the second prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology, “New Technology for Pb-Zn Combined Smelting and Resource Comprehensive Recovery was awarded in 2012 with the first prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology”, “Development and Industrialization of Enriched Oxygen Side-blown Cu-Ni Bath Smelting Process” was awarded in 2013 with the second prize by China Nonferrous Metal Industry Association for Science and Technology “Key Technology for Nonferrous Smelter As-containing Solid Waste Treatment and Pollution-free Utilization” was awarded in 2014 with the state-level second prize for Technological Advancement.
