On June 9, the startup ceremony of oxygen sideblown furnace for commercial test on Zn leach residue treatment process and equipment was held at Bofang Copper Mine of Hunan Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metal Group Co., Ltd..
At present, the annual output of leaching residue in China is more than 4000kt, in the residue there are a lot of valuable elements such as Zn, Au, Ag, In, Pb, Cu and S, which have high resource and economic values. Currently, the traditional rotary kiln is used for volatization to recover Zn and In, it has disadvantages of recovering not all the valuable metals, serous environmental pollution, high energy consumption and cost. The oxygen sideblown furnace has the advantages of complete recovery of the valuable metals, good environmental protection, low energy consumption and high performance cost ratio. The research and development of oxygen sideblown furnace for treatment Zn leaching residue have significant resource, economic and environmental values, and will have a wide prospect in the future.
The test plant serves as a R& D test platform constructed jointly by CINF and Shuikoushan Group Co. according to the agreed investment proportion and cooperation and also a commercial test platform for the research on the application of oxygen sideblown bath smelting technology for treatment of materials such as highPb residue, Pb mortar, Pbcontaining complex material, PbSb mixed ore, laterite nickel ore and metal residue.
