It was put into production in 2012. The project uses the brine of Jinaier Salt Lake in Dongtai as raw material, and uses ion selective electromigration separation technology to separate magnesium and lithium to produce lithium carbonate products. It won the first prize of Excellent Engineering Design Achievements of China Nonferrous Metals Construction Association in 2013 and the first prize of Qinghai Science and Technology Award in 2012. This technology can successfully separate magnesium and lithium from salt lake brine with high magnesium-lithium ratio in China, which makes a breakthrough development of lithium extraction technology in salt lake and represents one of the frontiers of lithium extraction technology in salt lake.
